The former British model Pattie Boy, 79 years old, has decided to reveal the secrets of the love triangle she had between the Sixties and Seventies with two giants of music such as Eric Clapton and George Harrison, with whom she was married in different periods.
In fact, Boyd has her letters containing her 'secrets' from that period up for auction at Christie's.
In one of these, written by Clapton in 1970, when Boyd was still the wife of the Beatles star, the famous guitarist asks if she still loves her husband and if she has another lover.
She then acknowledges that her words are "impertinent", but she adds: "If there is still a feeling for me in your heart, you must let me know."
In another letter, written several months later, Clapton addresses her using her nickname, "Layla" - the title of one of his famous songs dedicated to the model - almost begging her: "Why do you hesitate, I'm a poor lover, I'm ugly, I'm too weak , too strong, why? If you want me, take me, I'm yours..".
In other letters it is instead Harrison, during a tour with the Beatles, who writes to her wife, asking her how he is and reminding her that he loves her.
The two separated in 1974 and the model and photographer married Clapton in 1979. She Boy also inspired other songs, Clapton's 'Wonderful Tonight' and the Beatles' 'Something'.
Inside the auction entitled 'The Pattie Boyd Collection', which will open on Christie's website on March 8, there are also photographs, clothes and jewels that belonged to the model and muse.
