New troubles for General Roberto Vannacci;
after the case on the expenses incurred when he was an Italian military attaché in Moscow and the investigation by the Rome Prosecutor's Office for incitement to racial hatred, a defamation investigation file also emerges opened after the complaint filed by Paola Egonu, the volleyball champion star of the Italian national team.
This is what the newspaper La Nazione anticipates, explaining that at the center of the complaint, filed in Bergamo and forwarded to Lucca for territorial jurisdiction, Vannacci resides in Viareggio, are the contested phrases on the athlete's "somatic features".
The public prosecutor opted for the dismissal, a decision contested by Egonu and is now awaiting the decision of the preliminary hearing judge who will have to decide whether to proceed with the dismissal or whether to order the trial for the general.
