"Since the launch of the pre-compiled tax return project, there has been a constant increase in the declarations sent directly by the citizen, without the intervention of intermediaries, going from around 1.4 million in 2015 to 4.5 million in 2023": the director said this of the Revenue Agency Ernesto Maria Ruffini in the hearing at the Finance and Treasury Committee of the Senate.
"This result derives from the ever-increasing trust and awareness of citizens regarding the usefulness and ease of use of the electronic pre-compiled declaration service, thanks also to the constant enrichment of the information present in the declaration, the increasingly high quality of the data transmitted by external bodies and the improvements made to the web procedure made available to taxpayers", he said.
For Ruffini, the usefulness of the pre-compiled form is not only in cases in which the form is accepted by the taxpayer without modification.
Even if the content must be integrated, the effectiveness of the tool is not lost because "the intervention requested from the citizen is limited to the specific integration while the pre-compilation of all the other parts of the declarative model remains valid as a whole", he said. added.
