"I believe we need to look carefully at what President Marsilio has done in recent years. Abruzzo has a complex geographical conformity, we need to look for solutions suited to local realities. Italy is beautiful, but also very varied, I believe that investments on territorial and digital medicine will greatly help many regions such as Abruzzo".
The Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci, said this while speaking to journalists at the ASL headquarters in L'Aquila, today in the Abruzzo capital to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the University's academic year.
And it is at the university that he will meet the doctors, after an extraordinary municipal council on healthcare was held yesterday in the city and in recent days there was a demonstration in defense of primary care units.
"I believe that everyone, especially general practitioners, must contribute to ensuring that the healthcare system works well, they are fundamental. We also speak with them at a national level, their dedication to improving healthcare will be important."
Schillaci then answered questions about the importance of training.
"I believe that investing in training and research is fundamental for a nation like ours, to ensure that the paths are more suited to the times that are changing. The money for research is the best spent."
