While North Korea's weapons factories "generally operate at 30 percent capacity due to shortages of raw materials and energy, some are operating at full capacity and primarily producing weapons and projectiles for Russia."
This is what Defense Minister ShinWon-sik said while meeting the media, in the Yonhap report.
The North is estimated to have shipped about 6,700 containers to Russia since the September summit between leader Kim Jong-un and President Vladimir Putin, Shin added.
They are sufficient volumes to transport approximately 3 million 152 mm artillery shells or 500,000 122 mm shells.
