The possible sending of Western troops to Ukraine "is Macron's idea" but "when we talk about sending troops we must be very cautious because we must not make people think that we are at war with Russia. We are not at war with Russia, we defend" the Ukraine "and in my personal opinion I am not in favor of sending Italian troops to fight in Ukraine".
Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said this on the sidelines of the Coordination Committee of Italy-Croatia ministers in Zagreb.
