Fries are usually prepared in the deep fryer with a lot of fat.
If you want to make the delicious potato sticks yourself, you can try a healthier version in the oven.
To ensure that the fries taste just as delicious and are also crispy, amateur cooks should follow the following tips:
Frozen fries should be thawed at room temperature before cooking.
If the excess water has already escaped from the fries, they will become crispier in the oven.
When frozen products are heated, water vapor is created.
The humidity in the oven then ensures that the fries cannot become crispy.
Fries only taste really good when they are well salted.
But instead of adding salt to the fries after baking, spraying them with salt water before heating ensures crispy brown fries.
To do this, simply dissolve one to two teaspoons of salt in a little water and distribute the mixture with a spray bottle.
Then add salt to the fries to taste.
Stiftung Warentest
recommends rinsing the potatoes with water after peeling them - until the water becomes clear again.
This removes starch from the potatoes, giving them more bite.

Unusual method of preparation: Fries from the pan
Cooking fries in a pan is less common.
To do this, add enough oil to the pan until the bottom is completely covered.
If the fat is hot enough, put just enough fries in the pan so that they touch each other as little as possible.
Similar to the deep fryer, the fries are ready and ready to eat after about four minutes.
After frying, drain the fries briefly on kitchen paper.
