Will Western troops join the Ukrainian army in its fight against the Russian invader?
Unthinkable just a few weeks ago, the hypothesis gained weight last night after an unexpected statement from Emmanuel Macron.
“There is no consensus today to send ground troops in an official, assumed and endorsed manner.
But dynamically, nothing must be excluded,” said the President of the Republic, following a conference in support of Ukraine bringing together 21 heads of state.

Revived on the subject this morning, Gabriel Attal recalled that “two years ago”, many countries “ruled out sending weapons” including defense weapons to the Ukrainians.
However, “we are now sending long-range missiles to support the Ukrainians in the face of this aggression.”
“So what the President of the Republic recalled is that we cannot exclude anything in a war which once again acts at the heart of Europe and at the gates of the European Union,” concluded the Prime Minister.

It remains to be seen what other states engaged in the defense of Ukraine will think of this.
In one of the rare official reactions to Emmanuel Macron's comments, the Swedish Prime Minister indicated that sending troops to Ukraine was "not on the table at the moment".
In France, the opposition was quick to show its reluctance.

Gabriel Attal at the Agricultural Show.
After Emmanuel Macron's eventful visit on Saturday, the Prime Minister in turn strolled through the aisles of the SIA this morning.
He notably accused the RN of exploiting the agricultural crisis, describing Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella as “stowaways”.
The Prime Minister also said he was in favor of the idea of “reopening the construction site” of unemployment insurance.
Towards a truce in Gaza?
Joe Biden, who has been maneuvering for several weeks to obtain a break in Gaza, has apparently made progress.
The American president affirmed, in an interview with NBC, that Israel would cease its military “operations” against Hamas in the Gaza Strip during Ramadan, which is due to begin on March 10 or 11.
Biden even indicated that he was “hopeful” that a cease-fire would occur “by next Monday”.
