"Women can and should also work in agriculture"

New at the 'Alamot Gallery' in the Kinneret courtyard: "I did not serve you my country..." - an exhibition of works that are all the result of women's hands: paintings, sculptures, embroidered carpets and "egmography" (a work that looks different from every direction, in the spirit of the style developed by the artist Yaakov Lake).

The artists exhibiting in the exhibition come from all over the country, with "Korata" companies standing out among them - a group of female artists from Ethiopia who live in Haifa.

The exhibition is presented in collaboration with the Pioneering Women Heritage Museum, the Site Preservation Council and the Jordan Valley Regional Council.

Yael Nitzan, initiator and curator of the exhibition: "The Garden of Kinneret is identified both with Rachel the poet, and with Hanna Meisel's 'Maiden Farms' - the first farm in the Land of Israel to teach agriculture to girls and women. Rachel was the first Hebrew poet, and became a symbol of a woman who dreamed of fulfillment and left a legacy Miraculous and timeless. 'The Maidens' Farm' is a symbol of the initial thought that women can and should also work in agriculture - a field that was then considered completely male. The Kinneret Court and the Maidens' Farm are a special place, where the magic of the story and its importance in history were combined with the beauty of the place, where indeed things once were. Therefore, this The right place for exhibitions that emphasize women's art, paintings about women, women's art and the image of women in the eyes of painters and sculptors. Exhibitions that commemorate their greatness and deeds, and the dreams of the pioneers."
