American actor Richard Lewis died on Tuesday February 27 of a heart attack at the age of 76, several American media announced this Wednesday.

Known for having starred in the popular comedy series
Curb your Enthusiasm (Larry and his navel,
in French), the actor was also a comedian and made appearances on several television shows, such as
The Tonight Show
, broadcast on NBC, or the

with David Letterman.
One of the most influential comedians of the 20th century
GQ magazine included him in its list of
"the most influential comedians of the 20th century"
, and he was ranked 45th in the top 100

In 2023, Richard Lewis announced that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease two years earlier.
