"Between fanfare and braggadocio, the communication strategy of the CEO of the Strait of Messina, Pietro Ciucci, proceeds, relating to the bridge over the Strait of Messina, and of the guilty acquiescence that the mayors of the cities concerned seem to show to this. The citizens of the Strait, however, from Capo Peloro to Cannitello , they are not for sale and they do not have a nose ring, Ciucci and the municipal administrations should know this."
This was stated by the 'Instead of the bridge - citizens for the sustainable development of the Strait area' Committee after the Ciucci meetings in Calabria.
"In his meetings, Ciucci speaks of 'absolute transparency' for a project that has so far been hidden even from Parliament. And he tells lies when he says that 'The point of no return was passed with the approval of the Update Report by the SdM Board of Directors on 15 February'. It's a lie, which among other things mortifies the institutions that bear the responsibility for the final approval of the project. What need is there to (try to) fool people? Other than 'tailored tailoring', this is about low-level labor : is it a coincidence that the prosecutor of Catania writes about 'a bridge full of small things' and that of Messina asks to increase the staff of the Court for the bridge? It is the time to be there, to give voice to an increasingly public opinion (local and national) aware of and against this expensive, useless and harmful infrastructure. It is time for those who believe they want to protect the collective interest to make this voice heard and make it count.
In the meantime, the association has made a formal request to the mayor to be included in the technical table citizen who will evaluate the impact of the bridge on the city.
We await (confidently?) a prompt response from the mayor."
