Starting price: 35 million euros.

This humble home located in Kensington, west London (United Kingdom) is above all one of the last homes of Freddie Mercury, legend of the group Queen and is officially for sale since Monday February 26, reports CNN.

The singer purchased the property in 1980, after visiting it only once.

Working with interior architect and designer Robin Moore Ede, Freddie Mercury renovated the house over the next decade, using the finest materials and his personal design tastes to create what he called his “country house in central London,” said real estate agency Knight Frank, which is handling the sale.

Built in the neo-Georgian style in 1907, this house consists of a double-height living room, a bar, a library, a space dedicated to music, a Japanese garden and a French garden, details Sky News.

Other details such as the total surface area, the number of bedrooms or bathrooms have not been made public, notes the British chain.

It is sold at a price of 30 million pounds sterling, or a little over 35 million euros.

Freddie Mercury had designed the house so that it could become “a memorable and welcoming place that reflects his vibrant personality and eclectic vision,” the press release added.

With this in mind, the dining room was painted lemon yellow, the singer's favorite color.

The living room, which once housed the grand piano used to compose "Bohemian Rhapsody", offers a view of the property's garden, adorned with large magnolias and "oriental-inspired" water features.

The house sold by Freddie Mercury's only heiress

The “We Are The Champions” singer left all of his assets to one heir, his close friend Mary Austin.

When he died in 1991, she took over management of all of the rock star's properties.

Now aged 72, she has started a sale of numerous goods that belonged to Freddie Mercury: in September 2023, she had already organized the auction of more than 1,400 items, which had brought in a total of 46, 5 million euros.

“I had a lot of fun living there and I have wonderful memories there.

Now that it's empty, I remember the first time we visited it.

Since Freddie and I walked through that legendary green door, it has been a place of peace, a true artist's home, and the time has come to entrust that feeling of peace to someone else,” he said. -she adds.
