Booktok books are being made into films: Mona Kasten “Save Me”

The book by the German author, published in 2018, is volume 1 of the “Maxton Hall series”.

to appear as a six-part mini-series on Amazon Prime Video in spring 2024.

The title: “Maxton Hall – The World Between Us”.

The author Mona Kasten, born in 1992, announced on her homepage in advance who would bring her characters to life: Harriet Herbig-Matten will embody Ruby Bell.

On the big screen via TikTok: Colleen Hoover “It Ends with US”

The US author Colleen Hoover is one of the best-selling authors on the New York Times bestseller list.

Her young adult novel “It Ends with Us” (in German: “Just one more time”) was published in 2016. Five years later, the book experienced an increase in popularity thanks to the BookTok community and became a global success.

Now Colleen Hoover's story is to be made into a film - to which fans reacted mixedly.

Actor and director Justin Baldoni (“Jane the Virgin”) secured the rights to the film adaptation in 2019.

He himself will also take on one of the main roles.

Next to him, Blake Lively (“Gossip Girl”) plays the protagonist Lily Bloom.

“It Ends with Us” began filming in May 2023 in New Jersey.

The recordings were interrupted by the strike by the US actors union SAG-AFTRA.

The film, originally scheduled for February 9th, will now be released in cinemas on June 21st, 2024.

“The Inheritance Games” is one of the most popular books on TikTok.

Under the video from a BookToker about the possible film adaptation of the young adult novel, a user writes: “Omg Inheritance Games is being made into a film?

I love it!” The US author Jennifer Lynn Barnes was even awarded the “Buxtehuder-Bulle” youth prize in 2023 for her novel.

According to a report by the US Hollywood news magazine

Deadline,

the book will now be produced as a series by Amazon.

Sony PicturesTV and television producer Josh Berman are also said to be involved in the project.

However, there is no specific start date and the actors are not yet known.

Fans of the Inheritance series will have to be patient.

The film is never as good as the book?

This is a common opinion among avid readers.

Using the hashtag #BookTok on TikTok, many readers are still looking forward to the planned film adaptations of their favorite books.
