'Materia Natura' is the theme that will guide the 2024 edition of the Fuorisalone, one of the most anticipated events of the year which will be held in conjunction with the Salone del Mobile.
From 15 to 21 April, Milan returns to the international scene of the design world with a very rich calendar of events, exhibitions and installations spread throughout the city in the now famous design districts.
At the center of everything there will be sustainability with the aim of fueling the dialogue with design, and recalling urgent issues therefore 'matter' and 'nature', with the desire to promote increasingly sustainable projects.
To make the theme of 'Materia Natura' even more pervasive, Fuorisalone invited Nicola Ricciardi - artistic director of miart - to curate the visual representation of the theme, in collaboration with EX, a research and design group.
Thus was born the photographic and audiovisual work Pov, with five different scenarios that investigate the fragile relationship between man and the environment.
Art and design will therefore dialogue even more in this edition thanks to the collaboration with miart, the international modern and contemporary art fair scheduled in Milan from 12 to 14 April and which will cross over into design week with some itineraries.
However, the real protagonists of the Fuorisalone are the design districts which will be animated by numerous events.

Starting from the Brera Design District which in its fifteenth year of life is aiming for a record of over 260 events on the calendar including exhibitions, installations, group shows and new products.
Brera Mag is the real novelty of 2024 for Brera Design District: a magazine completely dedicated to Brera, a 180-page paper publication, with a circulation of 15,000 copies and a semi-annual periodicity.
'Glo' returns for the second year to the Brera Design District with its artistic project 'glo for art', an immersive installation designed by Emiliano Ponzi.
While Valcucine offers 'Architectural Scenarios' in its showroom on Corso Garibaldi: the collective exhibition where three renowned international architecture and interior design studios interpret the brand's kitchens.
The Ex Macello area will host the Fuorisalone Festival, a musical event with internationally renowned artists and young talents, who will make music resonate within an iconic setting of industrial architecture, now a reference point for the Milan Design Week.
The Fuorisalone will also go outside Milan with one of the projects most loved by the public, that of Alcova which chose Varedo, in Brianza, to show its experimental design.
Location of the event will be Villa Borsani and Villa Bagatti Valsecchi: the first a perfect example of modernist architecture designed by Osvaldo Borsani during the Second World War, the second an archetype of a 17th century Lombard villa.
