Highlights: The Maitrepierre fall-winter 2024-2025 fashion show, between pop poetry and eco-responsibility. The Kawaii aesthetic (aesthetic of Japanese origin that evokes the world of childhood, Editor's note ) meets the codes of very Parisian fashion. Made from recycled fabrics, the clothes, patinated with fibers from the past, are worn as true witnesses of the present and already seem ready to look towards the future. On the models' feet, we find eight models of shoes made from biosourced materials; on their arms, two new bags.

This Tuesday, February 27, the young French designer presented his new collection called “Less & More” at Espace Commines.

It is in a former 20th century industrial warehouse, Espace Commines, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, that the young designer Alphonse Maitrepierre set up shop for his show.

A place that reflects its new fall-winter 2024-2025 collection, since everything here already has a story that is constantly rewriting and reinventing itself.

Looking to the future with the aim of ever more eco-responsible fashion, this new collection defies the laws of temporality, like our contemporary universe which combines past, present and future.

All imbued with a unique sartorial vocabulary, at the crossroads between the world of art and that of fashion.

“LESS & MORE”: ambivalences and paradoxes

In the immaculate atmosphere of the Espace Commines, the guests hold their breath, and the first notes of music sound, letting a hint of exaltation emerge.

The silhouettes follow one another.

Accompanied by a soundtrack that becomes increasingly catchy, the looks become more complex with nuance and delicacy.

Here, the Kawaii aesthetic (aesthetic of Japanese origin that evokes the world of childhood,

Editor's note

) meets the codes of very Parisian fashion: slip dresses mingle with sportswear hoodies and voluminous cashmere coats .

Made from recycled fabrics, the clothes, patinated with fibers from the past, are worn as true witnesses of the present and already seem ready to look towards the future.

Continuing his fight for more responsible fashion, this season Alphonse Maitrepierre is carrying out a first collaboration with New York artist Gracelee Lawrence, who adorns the silhouettes of her models with sculptures in pop colors, made from corn residue.

Added to this collaboration is that with the very Parisian shoemaker Carel.

On the models' feet, we find eight models of shoes made from biosourced materials;

on their arms, two new bags, whose names “George” and “Simone” recall those of the founders of the brand.

The iconic heritage and vision of Maitrepierre dialogue with contemporaneity, and look to the future with finesse.

Equipped with his creative power, Alphonse Maitrepierre merges fashion and poetry with an aesthetic signature that belongs only to him.
