Italy was defeated 5-1 (3-1) by England in a friendly match played in Algeciras (Spain).
The reigning European champions put the Italians, fresh from a 0-0 draw with Ireland, in difficulty right from the start of the match, scoring after a minute with Wubben-Moy.
A brace from Manchester City striker Lauren Hemp (21' and 34') widened the gap before Michela Cambiaghi's goal on the counterattack in added time in the first half.
The English team pulled ahead again in the second half, with goals from Ella Ann Toone in the 19th minute and Rachel Daly in the 34th minute.
Having completed the double friendly match that opened 2024, the national team led by Andrea Soncin will now have to start tackling the Euro 2025 qualifiers from April.
