Ferrero chocolate for a kilo price of over 100 euros: A supermarket customer shares a photo on Reddit that causes anger and incomprehension.
Kassel – Chocolate is a luxury good – but this price is probably going a bit too far.
A supermarket customer could hardly believe his eyes when he passed the chocolate shelf.
For the Ferrero product “Kinder Choco-Bons Crispy” you should pay 10.99 euros, which means a kilo price of 123.48 for the rather small 89-gram pack.
Reason enough for the consumer to take a photo of the astronomical price and post it on Reddit.
Recently, a Rewe store was angry with customers – because of their behavior.

On the social network, users can hardly believe the price of the expensive chocolate at first, but one of them points to the Kaufland website, where the same product costs 141.69 euros per kilo, or 12.61.
The opinion about the offer is clear: they would never buy the chocolate at this price.
“'Family bag' with 89 grams tops it off,” one user also commented on the note on the pack.
Family packs are usually larger than traditional ones.
One person writes that he would only treat himself to a bag if he won the lottery jackpot.

At Kaufland, the explanation on the website gives you an idea of how the high price comes about: It is an exclusive import by air freight from Saudi Arabia, “which you will not find in any normal supermarket.”

The fact that the chocolate is imported from the Middle East goes against the grain of many Reddit users.
They denounce the climate-damaging transport route.
One user “thought it was a joke.” Based on one of the most famous expensive foods, the chocolate also earned a name among users as “children's caviar”.

And another suspects a pricing error.
Others come with creative suggestions: “I have a totally crazy solution.
I swear it works: don't buy it." Healthy alternatives are also suggested: "Please just buy apples."
User speaks of “perfect marketing stunt”
At least there is also a few isolated positive feedback: One user who received the chocolate as a gift reports that it at least tastes good.
Another user is impressed by the market's marketing strategy.
The deal is “a perfect marketing stunt.”
The market would artificially restrict availability, arouse interest with the attributes new and rare and limit the supply over time.
Then the market would “set the price very high and see whether customers accept it precisely because of these factors.” And then profit.
Chocolate was also an issue in other markets: A manufacturer is recalling a chocolate bar.
Consumption is strongly discouraged.
Otherwise, some people will face health consequences.
