Twenty dancers and actors, 500 costumes, 600 lights and 300 props on stage.
It’s an understatement to say that the musical “Devdas” will hit hard this weekend at the Grand Rex in Paris (II arrondissement).
This Bollywood show is more adapted from the novel by Sarat Chandra Chatterjee, published in 1917, than from the film released in France in 2003. "It's the 'Romeo and Juliet' of India, with lots of twists and turns, joy and tragedies,” told the actors this Thursday morning just before rehearsals.
“There has been no Bollywood in Paris since 2015, with
Bharati
,” calculates Ashvin Gidwani, the Indian producer of the show.
