How must the cat feel?
She looks out of her cave carefully; everything around her is strange.
Last Sunday the pet was abandoned on the Bramsch market square.
Unfamiliar noises, strange smells.
The familiar surroundings suddenly disappeared.
Instead, it is loud, turbulent and frightening.
Last weekend probably ended in a nightmare for a white Persian cat.
She was abandoned on Sunday afternoon (February 25th) around 3:30 p.m. in the middle of the market square in Bramsche (Lower Saxony) by a 30-year-old woman with blonde hair.

As the Osnabrück police station reports, the woman was observed doing what she was doing.
So she drove her black SUV into the market square and dropped off the animal along with the scratching post, pet food, accessories and a sign that said “To be given away”.
As if the cat were a lifeless, no-longer-needed object that you brazenly throw away at the door in the belief that someone else will take care of it.

Residents immediately informed the police and the cat was initially handed over to the city of Bramsche's building yard.
According to
the picture,
the animal is now housed at Katzenhilfe Bramsche.
“We are speechless and cannot understand why someone would do something like this,” says Petra Gerlach from Katzenhilfe.
Simply leaving it out would leave even her “stunned”.
The police are now investigating the violation of the Animal Protection Act.

Abandoning four-legged friends is a punishable offence.
Anyone caught doing so must expect a high fine or, in case of doubt, a prison sentence.
“It is forbidden to abandon an animal kept in the house, business or otherwise in human care or to leave it behind in order to get rid of it or to evade the responsibility of keeping or caring for it,” says Section 3 Paragraph 3 of the Animal Welfare Act ( Animal Protection Act).
