The White House is considering airdropping aid into Gaza as land deliveries become increasingly difficult.
Four US officials told Axios.
"The situation is really serious. We need extreme measures like airdrops," one of the sources said.
However, officials admit, airborne aid is limited because a military jet can only drop an amount of supplies equivalent to that carried by one or two trucks.
Therefore they can be used in case of emergency but, the sources underline, the only way to send assistance to Gaza is by land.
