Catherine Janice Ipsan, her full name, released her first album, singing and playing piano in 2014. Her second album, Fire, had more rock notes.

In 2019, Cat Janice won a Washington Area Music Award (WAMMY) for Best Rock Artist.

One last viral song

Cat Janice, a native of Washington, had been battling neck muscle cancer for two years.

On January 5, the singer announced to her fans in an Instagram post: “Cancer has won.

There is no easy way to say it (…) My stay on this beautiful Earth is coming to an end.”

News that shocked the web because a few months earlier, the size of the tumor in question had reduced considerably and she had resumed her singing career.

Everyone thought the songwriter was on the right track.

But in the spring of 2023, the illness took on a new dimension by affecting her lungs, and doctors announced to her that she was entering the terminal phase.

The fighter Cat Janice therefore decided to use her last strength for a song which went viral, “Dance You OUtta My Head”.

“All profits will go to my son”

After the release of this title, the singer made a special request to her fans.

“My last wish is that you share and listen to this song, all profits will go to my 7 year old son.”

At the same time, she explains that she hopes to give her son a musical boost “which he will need later in life”.

A request that was widely heard since Internet users streamed the title several million times.

Her brother posted on Instagram that she wanted to share more artwork that would be released in due time.
