Matteo Arnaldi and Flavio Cobolli both exited in the round of 16 of the Acapulco tournament, an ATP 500 where they had come to challenge, respectively, the American Ben Shelton and Stefanos TSitsipas.
Arnaldi lost in three sets (7-6, 3-6, 6-3), while the Florentine surrendered in two (6-3, 7-6) to the Greek, even though he kept him busy until the end.
In fact, Cobolli went up 5-2 in the tie-break and with two serves available but Tsitsipas prevented him from extending to the third set.
"It was an incredible comeback, especially in such a moment of the match after I had also served to close the match - commented the Greek -. It's not something you expect, you have a lot of doubts but I managed to stay calm, I refused to go to the third set and it was very important."
