The Real Time Turnover Index of the Confindustria study centre, which tracks the dynamics of the volume of economic activity in Italy, based on the electronic invoicing data of companies (on a sample of TeamSystem customers), records "a moderate decline in turnover at constant prices of companies, equal to -0.4%" after +1.6% in December.
"The overall decline - explain the economists on Via dell'Astronomia - is due to construction, in the face of positive data for services and industry".
The index "indicates, therefore, that the first quarter of the new year opened with a decline, reducing the already rather limited positive drag inherited from 2023".
