Farewell to the eclectic actor Luis Molteni, stage name for Gianluigi Molteni, who died yesterday in Rome at the age of 73 after a very long and varied career in theatre, cinema and TV.

    Born in Seregno in 1950, he made his debut at the end of the 70s with the theater (Quelli di Grock) and remained linked to it with many successful shows including Sumerycon (i.e. Nutella amara) with Corrado Guzzanti, Francesca Reggiani and Cinzia Leone, in Barefoot in the park directed by Sergio Castellitto and Margaret Mazzantini, The War of the Roses directed by Ugo Chiti and where he played the role of Danny De Vito, The Abusive Prince with Alessandro Siani and Christian De Sica.


    At the cinema he made his debut with Maurizio Nichetti in I made a splash in the '80s, he played the Butter Man in Roberto Benigni's Pinocchio and is on screens these days with Romeo and Juliet directed by Giovanni Veronesi.

But the list of his films and the many directors with whom he worked is truly endless, from Giuseppe Tornatore to Sergio Rubini, from Dario Argento to Carlo Vanzina, from Neri Parenti to Gabriele Muccino, from Carlo Verdone to Sergio Castellitto.
