Grant Haber, a resident of New Jersey, decided to take a drastic step in order to improve the view from his house of the New York skyline - and cut down 32 trees from his neighbor's land, without obtaining the required permission.

According to the bar, what motivated him was the desire for an improved view that would complete the living experience in the impressive mansion where he lives, which has five bedrooms and six bathrooms over 465 square meters.



However, his neighbor obviously did not accept the claim, and decided to sue him. Recently, as part of a plea deal that was closed, it was decided that the bar would compensate its neighbor in the amount of 13,000 dollars (equivalent to about NIS 46,000) - please note - for 18 of the 32 trees that were illegally removed. The original fine, before the plea deal, was 32,000 dollars.



However, despite the settlement with the neighbor, the local authorities continue to seek justice in court, emphasizing the significant impact of the bar's actions on the environment. In light of this, the financial consequences may escalate dramatically, with

potential damages that could reach up to a million dollars

After the legal proceedings, Haber, the CEO of a company for combating terrorism, agreed to settle the fine imposed within 30 days as soon as possible. Nevertheless, the aforementioned saga continues when a district judge is supposed to determine the full extent of the damages that Haber has suffered in the upcoming hearing scheduled for April 19
