Inflation measured by the PCE index, the personal consumption expenditure that the Fed uses as one of the main indicators of price pressures, rose by 2.4% in January, in line with expectations.
The PCE core index recorded a +0.3%, also in this case in line with expectations.
Americans' personal spending rose 0.2% in January, in line with expectations.
Incomes rose 1% above forecasts.
In Germany, inflation in February stood at +2.5% on an annual basis.
This is the lowest value since June 2021. This was announced by the German Federal Statistics Office.
The consumer price index rose 0.4% compared to January.
The data is better than market expectations, which expected +0.5% on the month and +2.6% on the year.
