After Alzheimer's disease, Lewy body dementia is the second most common form of progressive dementia.
Symptoms typical of Lewy body dementia:
Progressive memory impairment
Slowed thinking
Tremble
Movement disorders
Falls
Slowed movements
muscle stiffness (rigor)
Body leans to the side when walking and standing (so-called Pisa syndrome)
Visual hallucinations
Urinary incontinence
Low blood pressure
Disturbed REM sleep (dream sleep)
Very real dreams
sleep disorders
Restless sleep with increased movements
Talking in your sleep

The special feature of Lewy body dementia are the optical hallucinations, which usually occur very early in the course of the disease.
These perceptions are often very detailed for those affected; for example, they see people or large animals, which can cause great fear.
Auditory hallucinations are less common.
