    Welcoming Mattarella were the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, the President of the Region, Vincenzo De Luca and the Mayor of Caserta, Carlo Marino.

Before visiting the Vanvitellian Palace, President Mattarella went to the Church of San Francesco di Paola to pay homage to the remains of the architect Luigi Vanvitelli, preserved in the crypt inside an urn.

The Bishop of Caserta Pietro Lagnese and the parish priest Biagio Saiano welcomed the Head of State while outside there were many small pupils from the Moro-Pascoli comprehensive school with tricolor flags.
