Her mysterious body was identified in the stream

Ruth Koenigswald, director of the Sde Ein Gedi school of the Society for the Protection of Nature, notes that the story of the discovery of the stream is fascinating and mysterious - it begins with the disappearance of a hiker.

After long searches that yielded no results, his family decided to use the services of a Dutch parapsychologist.

In the telegram he sent to Eretz , the

'hidden seer' asked if a search had been conducted in 'a small ravine located 6 km north of the Sde Ein Gedi school, in which there is a small spring from which a tree grows.'

This guidance. They stopped their car and started walking in the river channel. After walking less than a kilometer, they found the spring but did not find the body of the missing person.

However, at the beginning of 1994, an archaeological survey was conducted at the site and a little south of the stream, a human body was discovered buried under a wave of stones.

To date, the body has not been identified.

What do you do and how do you travel?

We will park the car near road 90 in the dirt parking lot and start walking along the green marking parallel to the road, we will go down a comfortable ladder to the creek bend, from where we will continue walking up the creek channel.

In the gorge there are two dry waterfalls that can be crossed using steps (pegs) and a comfortable path.

After a few meters the stream opens and widens, and the walk combines a passage between huge rocks and diverse vegetation.

Climb several rock steps until you reach a vast fossil surface - remains of oysters about 90 million years old!

Continuing on the green path to the tiny Salvadora spring, another short walk will lead us to the bottom of the huge and powerful waterfall.

After that, we will retrace our steps to the fossil surface, and connect to the blue trail marking that descends above the river channel, when we turned towards the Dead Sea and the mountains of Moab, until we get back to the vehicles.

It's time for the Judean desert.
