The dramatic fire that is destroying Texas is now the largest in the history of the state and has already caused one victim, an 83-year-old woman in the city of Stinnett.
Today there were showers in the Texas Panhandle area and there are fears that the fire could spread quickly with the hot and windy weather expected over the weekend.
The Texas A&M Forest Service explained that the fire named Smokehouse Creek has already burned over 400 thousand hectares and has also spread to another 10 thousand hectares in Oklahoma.
The anomalous heat, which has broken all the records of recent days, has fueled the flames.
