Thomas Jacob Hilfiger
who heads the successful American brand Tommy Hilfiger knows a thing or two about denim.
The jeans have always been a central anchor in the brand's collections, but like every designer he has a clear preference, the only problem is that it does not interface with the current mindset.
Hilfiger was in attendance at a charity event in Palm Beach, Florida, in honor of his wife, Dee Okalfo Hilfiger, who was recognized for her contributions to fashion and philanthropy.
The well-known fashion designer commented on his love for the colorful fashion in Palm Beach and the essential difference in New York, where he lives - "In New York we like to wear black. My clothes sell better in Florida, California, Texas, etc."
Dislikes oversized jeans - "I think they look terrible on women".

Later in an interview with Page Six he also expressed his opinion on one of the most prominent trends in the fashion market in recent years - the baggy jeans.
The loose oversized cut in which women love to walk so much and rightfully so.
"I prefer to see tight clothes that flatter the body," said Hilfiger, "I think they look terrible on women. I prefer to see tighter clothes that flatter the female body. Something more sculpted and a little tight in the hips," he added.

Hilfiger's statements, made at a charity event in honor of his wife, provoked much criticism on social networks.
Surfers condemned Hilfiger for his interference in women's fashion choices, claiming that he has no right to impose his personal opinion on clothing style.
Additionally, we noted the fact that Hilfiger's own website currently offers women's wide leg jeans for $230, so it's hard to take his words seriously given the fact that he makes a profit from selling items of the same style he criticizes.

We also argued that "femininity" is not defined by a particular style of clothing, and that women should be free to wear what makes them feel comfortable and confident.
It is doubtful whether Hilfiger thought that the matter would escalate in this way, but as of this time he has not yet responded to the criticism on the web.
