Those employed in January 2024 decreased compared to December 2023 and increased on a trend basis.
Istat indicates a reduction of 34 thousand units (-0.1%) on December and a growth of 362 thousand units (+1.6%) on January 2023.
Employment on a cyclical basis falls among men, those under 34, employees in the future, the self-employed;
instead, it grows among women and those aged at least 50.
The employment rate fell to 61.8% (-0.1 points).
Comparing the quarter November 2023-January 2024 with the previous one (August-October 2023), there was an increase in the employment level of 0.4%, for a total of 90 thousand employed.
