Raised beds are more popular than ever.
No wonder, because it protects your back.
But what other advantages do they have?
Gardeners love working in the soil, loosening it, digging it up and seeing how the vegetables develop.
However, some people sometimes reach their physical limits.
Raised beds can solve the problem because they promise high yields with less physical effort.

Raised beds are a must in most gardens.
But do you really know what exactly makes the constructs so valuable?
These are the most obvious advantages:
1. No digging necessary
:
One of the most practical aspects of a raised bed is that the soil does not have to be dug up again for gardening.
After the raised bed has been set up and filled with soil, it simply needs to be enriched with compost, fertilizer and grass clippings.
When the individual layers then decompose, a loose, healthy soil is created.
2. Richer, simpler soil
: Regardless of the soil in your garden, you can design raised beds to suit your needs.
Mix garden soil with soil for houseplants and enrich it with compost.
3. Ergonomically valuable

Raised beds are ideal for anyone who can do without a tense neck, back pain and stiff knees.
You decide for yourself at what height the beds are and can work while sitting or standing.
4. Fewer weeds
: Unwanted growth is easier to remove in raised beds.

5. Protection against (rodent) animals
: There are significantly fewer snails and rodents such as mice in the raised bed.
They first look for food on the ground.
A snail barrier can also be useful for raised beds.

6. Higher yield
: A lot can be grown in a small space in raised beds, especially when there is little space in the garden for a conventional bed.
With the right neighbors in the raised bed, many different types of vegetables and lettuce can be grown.
7. Protection against erosion
: Rain and snow in the garden cause beds to flood or entire slopes to slide.
There is no erosion in the raised bed.
If it still collapses, simple tips can save the harvest.
