French farmers are protesting today near the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, saying the action is aimed at "saving French agriculture", wrote the Rural Coordination union on Champs-Elysées, waving flags among the hay bales.
"The Rural Coordination is symbolically and peacefully occupying the Etoile", wrote the union on the social network.
Sixty-six people were stopped this morning in place Charles-de-Gaulle-Etoile, the famous square where the Arc de Triomphe is located: this was confirmed by police sources quoted by Le Figaro confirming information from BFM-TV.
At the moment, continues Le Figaro, the reasons for the arrests are not known.
Among the people stopped by the police, there was also Patrick Legras, one of the personalities of the rural Coordination agricultural union who organized the Parisian blitz.
