After the controversy generated in recent days by the Government's decision to "review and audit the creation of five national universities", the result of the appeal for protection filed by the University of Pilar was known this Friday.

Diana Wanger, the rector of that house of studies, had presented an appeal for protection against the National State to declare the unconstitutionality of Resolution 45, which provided for the review of the creation of the University and the beginning of activities of new institutions. national university universities, among which are also those of Delta, Ezeiza, Río Tercero and Madres de Plaza de Mayo.

In her writing, the rector raised the "imminent injury and threat of rights and guarantees recognized by articles 14 and 17 of the National Constitution and in Supranational Law (art. 75, inc. 22 of the CN)."

Given the request made by Wanger, this Friday the resolution of the federal judge of Campana, Adrián González Charvay, was known, which orders the National State to

"immediately" suspend the beginning of the review process

of the creation of the National University of Pilar .

In his resolution, the magistrate ordered the Ministry of Human Capital "the immediate suspension - specifically with respect to the National University of Pilar, created by Law 27,728 - of the effects of Resolution 45/2024 APN-MCH issued on 02/26/ 2024, which establishes the review process for the creation and initiation of academic activities of new national university institutions."

The measure issued is not definitive,

and is of a "precautionary" nature, that is, it will be valid until the requested precautionary measure is resolved.

Nor does it affect all the universities

mentioned in the resolution of the Ministry of Human Capital, but rather applies only to Pilar.

The mayor of Pilar, Federico Achával, celebrated the measure on his networks: "We set out to defend the National University of Pilar, the collective dream of all Pilar residents," he wrote, adding that the project is the most important that his community has.

The measure that stopped the creation of universities

The resolution had been taken by the Ministry of Human Capital and was announced last Tuesday by Manuel Adorni;

It reached the University of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo, Ezeiza, Delta and Pilar, all of them in the province of Buenos Aires;

and the Cordoba city of Río Tercero.

The media also suspended the appointment of five rectors, who had been defined prior to the assumption of the new government.

In his announcement, the presidential spokesperson reported that the decision to audit these new educational institutions had to do with the destination of 800 million pesos that had been assigned to two of the universities, but he avoided saying which ones.
