Cupertino – The new Apple Vision Pro has been officially sold in the USA since February 2nd and is already causing discussions around the world.
With a price of $3,499, it is not only particularly expensive, but also divides opinion because of its importance in our lives.
The reason: The new technology could fundamentally change our way of life if it becomes established.
Because the Vision Pro has numerous features.
The company recently announced that it would be integrating 600 more new apps for the headset.

Virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality – these are the differences
Virtual Reality (VR):
The user is completely immersed in a computer-generated environment.

The whole thing also works the other way around, namely when real things or people are placed in virtual worlds.

Then people start isolating themselves from real people and reality.
Creating a new romantic partner would be bad enough.

These parents can then never properly process the loss.”

Instagram, Facebook and Co: How social media ideals of beauty are making more and more young people depressed
For example, what has already become normal in social networks in the form of filters could also find its way into reality and promote serious mental illness.
The key word is mixed reality.
Mental illnesses such as depression are becoming increasingly common among children and young adults.
According to the Federal Statistical Office, around 266,000 patients in Germany were hospitalized for depression in 2017.
Of these, 5,790 were children and young people under the age of 15.
Ten times more than in 2000.
In the 15 to 24 year old age group, the number of treatment cases rose from around 5,200 in 2000 to around 34,300 in 2015. The reason: children and young people idealize images of beauty from the Internet and social media, such as Facebook and Instagram by no means correspond to reality and were mostly digitally reworked.
The Apple Vision Pro now brings this artificial, virtual reality of posts, likes and filters into our reality.
What many people forget: The mixed reality headset does not have a transparent screen, as LG recently presented at CES, but rather a front camera that brings the field of vision to the wearer's eyes using a screen.
