Founded in 2007, ANTS (the National Agency for Secure Titles) is replaced by France Title.
This is what the Ministry of the Interior has just announced.
Behind this decision by Beauvau lies a dual desire.
The first being to guarantee greater French and European digital sovereignty.
“With the integration of the France Identity program, the agency is the guarantor of reinforced digital sovereignty.
» indicates a press release from the Ministry of the Interior published in the Official Journal.
Simplify procedures
Furthermore, this change also responds to a desire to simplify procedures and the issuance of identity cards, passports or driving licenses.
“It thus opens the way to the development of new trust services which make it possible to radically simplify the use of securities.
This simplification is already evident with the digital driving license and the uses of the digital wallet carried out by the member states of the European Union” adds the Ministry of the Interior.
It is therefore now France Title and no longer ANTS which will manage applications for passports, identity cards, driving licenses, vehicle registration certificates and even electronic residence permits.
