Highlights: Around fifteen tractors headed towards the Palace of Versailles to park on avenue de l'Étoile. “The idea is to once again touch a symbol of Paris. It may not be the last,” promises Nicolas Bongay, president of Coordination Rurale 25. Amused, some tourists approach to feel the tractor wheels and immortalize the moment by taking a few photos, like Claudia, a tourist from Spain with her brother. ‘It’s a good idea to reuse these historic places to continue to express oneself politically’

After the Arc de Triomphe this Friday morning, around fifteen tractors headed towards the Palace of Versailles to park on avenue

Same tractors, same farmers, but a different symbolic place.

After showing their anger at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe, around fifteen tractors headed towards the Château Versailles to take up position in front of the building, a few hundred meters from the gates.

“The idea is to once again touch a symbol of Paris.

It may not be the last,” promises Nicolas Bongay, president of Coordination Rurale 25.

In front of him, the vehicles finish lining up in rows under the amazed eyes of the few tourists.

“It’s a bit unusual,” smiles David, who came to visit the castle.

“It’s a contrast,” says Marianne, her partner.

Versailles is a privileged place, symbol of Luxury.

This is in contradiction with the agricultural world which is going through complicated times at the moment.

Amused, some tourists approach to feel the tractor wheels and immortalize the moment by taking a few photos, like Claudia, a tourist from Spain with her brother.

“I didn't expect something like that in front of the castle,” she reacts, explaining that she has witnessed similar demonstrations in her country in recent weeks.

A few meters from the main entrance, Olivia, a tour guide, is waiting for a group of tourists.

For her, the symbolism is particularly well chosen.

“In my visits, we talk about Versailles, we talk about the French Revolution, we talk about the protest of the people…,” she explains.

“It’s a good idea to reuse these historic places to continue to express oneself politically.”
