Yellow alert for storms in the province of Buenos Aires: when the rain arrives in the City

Another 10 provinces with yellow alert

This morning the SMN issued

yellow level alerts for storms and rain for some areas of ten other provinces

, for strong winds for Chubut and Santa Cruz;

and orange alerts for extreme heat for much of Formosa, a portion of Chaco and eastern Salta.

According to the latest report from the meteorological agency, in addition to part of Buenos Aires, storms are expected for the entire province of La Pampa and a good part of San Luis and Mendoza, and the south of Córdoba.

A storm alert is also in effect in localities in the west of Salta and Jujuy and in the east of Río Negro and Chubut, where accumulated precipitation values ​​between 20 and 40 millimeters are expected.

Meanwhile, in the south of Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego there is a yellow alert for rain, some locally heavy, where between 10 and 20 millimeters are expected.

For the inhabitants of these localities, the SMN recommends "avoiding outdoor activities, not taking out trash and removing objects that prevent water from draining, not taking shelter near trees and electricity poles that may fall, and not staying on beaches, rivers, lagoons or pools to minimize the risk of being struck by lightning.

Likewise, the meteorological agency issued a yellow alert for strong winds in the southern area of ​​Chubut and west of Santa Cruz, which will be affected by winds from the western sector with speeds between 40 and 60 kilometers per hour, and gusts that can exceed 90 kilometers per hour. hour.

Faced with this forecast, they remembered to avoid outdoor activities and secure items that could fly away.

Finally, the SMN reported an orange alert due to extreme heat temperatures for the towns of Bermejo, Matacos, Ramón Lista and Patiño, in the province of Formosa;

the northwest of Almirante Brown and General Güemes, in Chaco;

and the department of Rivadavia, in Salta.

The orange level implies that heat can have a "moderate to high health effect" and that temperatures can "be very dangerous, especially for at-risk groups."
