“From the first meeting at the center, I felt listened to, heard, but it took me six months to realize that I was burned out,” says Mélanie.
This 52-year-old nurse, who worked for thirty years in public hospitals and private clinics in the Toulouse region (Haute-Garonne), has been supported since October 2023 by the Center for the Prevention of Professional Burnout of caregivers (PEPS) at the Purpan hospital in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), a unique and very recent system in France, it has existed since May 2023.
In a discreet building, health personnel (caring and non-caring) from public hospitals, private clinics, nursing homes, medical-health establishments and liberals in the Toulouse region can consult for burn-out, after having been sent there by the doctor work, their attending physician or on their own initiative.
