An ultralight crashed during take-off in Vejano, in the province of Viterbo, perhaps due to a technical failure.
Two men aged around 60, on board the aircraft, died in the accident.
The ultralight had left around 2pm from the Roman Aeroclub Prenestino airfield and made a stop at the Vejano airfield.
The plane crashed around 4pm about a kilometer from the runway and caught fire.
The accident site is located in an inaccessible area, so the 118 helicopter had to intervene to recover the bodies. The Viterbo firefighters and the Ronciglione carabinieri were on site.
