Student energy poverty

“The Local Intervention Service for Energy Management (Slime) of the City of Besançon wishes to support, as closely as possible to their needs, students in situations of energy poverty,” notes the city on its Facebook account.

The announcement was made via a video filmed downtown with students.

During the distributions, no less than 450 “thermal leggings” stamped “Here it is Besac (

the abbreviation of Besançon

)” will be made available to students.

The cost of the operation is estimated at 10,000 euros, report our colleagues from France 3 Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.

This assistance also aims to get in touch with students in precarious situations.

Jean-Emmanuel Lafarge (EELV), municipal councilor of Besançon, tells France 3 that it is “very complicated” for the city to locate these young people in difficulty “who often only stay for a year in their accommodation and who are always very shy in relation to this precariousness”.
