In Fort Worth, Texas, there is an unusual duo that attracts attention in bars and clubs - Michael Duncan and his horse Sheriff.
The story began a year and a half ago when Duncan, inspired by the TV western series Yellowstone, decided to get a horse.
The result was Sheriff, a half-Percheron and half-Quarter Horse that Duncan purchased at the Fort Worth Stockyards for $3,000.

How the curious tradition began
Originally, Duncan had no plans to bring Sheriff into bars or on city streets, reports the

But after learning to ride along the Trinity River, they caught the attention of some bars with patio seating.
“We were sitting on our horses and they said, 'Hey, come on in.'
We went to three bars that night and it all grew from there,” says Duncan.

Since then, Duncan and Sheriff have been hitting bars and clubs regularly, with their outings going viral on social media.
On his Facebook account, the rider reports on his trips with his friend on four hooves.
Duncan stresses that he always gets permission from the owners before taking Sheriff to the bars.
There is no provision in the Texas traffic law that prohibits this.

The 19-year-old sheriff, named after the nickname of Duncan's favorite football player Peyton Manning, accompanies Duncan not only to bars, but also to restaurants and even Walmart stores.
