“Israel has more or less accepted the agreement for a six-week truce in Gaza.”

A senior US official said this in a phone call with a small group of journalists.

At least 10 Palestinians were killed today in an Israeli airstrike that hit a tent in Rafah, the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry said.

Reuters writes it online.

The airstrike took place on an area where displaced Palestinians had taken refuge, outside the Emirates hospital in the Tel Al-Sultan suburb of Rafah, southern Gaza.

Gaza's Health Ministry said the victims included a doctor who worked at the hospital.

The United States has begun dropping aid into Gaza by military aircraft.

This was reported by an American official.

Three Air Forces Central C-130s dropped 66 packages containing around 38,000 meals in Gaza at 8.30am American time, 2.30pm in Italy, according to what two US officials told the Washington Post.

Today's intervention by the US Air Force, the military radio announced in a comment, ''represents a clear sign of Washington's dissatisfaction'' with Israel for the serious humanitarian situation created in Gaza.

The drops of humanitarian aid on the Gaza Strip took place today in three distinct phases: Egyptian planes conducted them in the morning, American planes in the afternoon and then Jordanian planes.

This was reported by military radio, according to which flights here ''are coordinated to the minute with the Israeli Air Force''.

The broadcaster reported that in the past few days United Arab Emirates and French planes also carried out similar launches.

This growing air traffic ''makes the operations of the Israeli air force in Gaza more complex''.

The massacre in Rafah

The acting director of al-Awda hospital in Jabalia, Mohammed Salha, says that around 80% of those wounded in the massacre during the humanitarian aid line in Gaza brought to his health facility had gunshot wounds.

The Arab broadcaster Al Jazeera reports it.

Of the 176 wounded taken to al-Awda hospital, 142 had gunshot wounds while the other 34 showed wounds due to a hasty escape, Salha said, specifying that he could not provide information on the cause of death of the victims of the incident because the their bodies were transported to other facilities.

Previously, the spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary General Stephane Dujarric had also said that during a visit to al-Shifa hospital a UN team "was able to confirm that many of the people being treated there", victims of Thursday's attack near Gaza , "they had gunshot wounds."

The Hamas-run Palestinian Ministry of Health says three more bodies have been found related to the massacre that occurred during the rush for humanitarian aid near the city of Gaza, bringing

the total number of victims of the incident to 115.

Around 760 people were injured.

The negotiations

Egyptian security sources announce to Al Arabiya that tomorrow, Sunday, negotiations for the ceasefire in Gaza and the exchange of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners will resume in Cairo.

"There is talk of a long truce in Gaza and an exchange - says the source - but to reach an agreement it is necessary to establish Israel's withdrawal from northern Gaza and the return of the displaced people"
