The work of the PSE Congress has begun at the Nuvola in the EUR in Rome, which sees the major European leaders taking turns to launch the electoral campaign for the European elections. The assembly was opened by the president of the PSE, Stefan Löfven.

Then the leader of the S&D group in the European Parliament, Iratxe Garcia Perez, and the Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu will speak.
The adoption of the PSE manifesto and the election of the socialist candidate in the next European elections Nicolas Schmit and his speech are scheduled for around 1pm.
Finally, Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will speak.
The conclusions will be entrusted to the leader of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein.

best response to the far right
is what we have done and accomplished, it is our vision and our positive project for Europe, so that every citizen and every child has a better life. The far right proposes nothing : only hatred and destruction of Europe".
This was stated by the socialist candidate for the next European elections and current European Commissioner for Labour, Nicolas Schmit, while conversing with journalists on the sidelines of the PSE congress, which is taking place at the Nuvola all'Eur in Rome

Nationalisms are never the solution, they have always led to wars and conflicts as we see with Russian aggression in Ukraine," Schmit added.

Difference women protest at PSE congress
Today during the work of the Congress of the European Socialist Party, scheduled in Rome, a delegation from Differenza Donna "strongly protested against the support given by the socialist party to the European Directive on gender violence approved last 8 February and which canceled points crucial in combating violence".
