The first round is won by John Elkann, even if the game still remains to be played.

The review court partially accepted the appeal of the lawyers of the CEO of Exor and of Gianluca Ferrero, the family's historic accountant, on the searches ordered by the Turin prosecutor's office in the investigation which revolves around the inheritance of Gianni Agnelli.

The prosecutors' decree was only partially annulled but, according to what can be gleaned from the device, it is a significant part.

The mobile phones, computers and other devices taken over by the financial police are returned (which will lead to the cancellation of the 'unrepeatable technical checks' on the devices, scheduled for next Friday).

And a mass of documents is returned.

Standing out above all are those concerning 'December', the safe that controls all the companies in the group.

The defenders had pointed out to the court that the quantity of material seized was excessive compared to the hypothesis of the crime: the participation in the 'unfaithful tax declaration' of Marella Caracciolo, wife of Gianni Agnelli, for the years 2018 and 2019.

"We are obviously satisfied, because a legal principle of which we were very convinced has been affirmed", comment lawyers Paolo Siniscalchi, Federico Cecconi and Carlo Re, lawyers for John Elkann.

"The court recognized our reasons on a principle of citizen guarantee, all the more valid when it concerns an esteemed professional bound and protected by law by professional secrecy" observe Marco Ferrero and Paolo Davico Bonino, defenders of the accountant, who in this affair appears in this capacity and not as president of Juventus.

At first glance it seems that the judges wanted to limit the room for maneuver of the public prosecutors, who in the documents mentioned treasures hidden abroad, companies located in "tax havens", undocumented payments, the need to reconstruct the Marella's entire assets and the corporate events of 'December'.

The will drawn up in 2011 by the woman (who died in 2019 at the age of 92) and the additions from 2012 and 2014 and the additions from 2012 and 2014 remain under seizure, and therefore available to the investigators. Then the papers that refer to the alleged mystery regarding the domicile in Switzerland.

The list includes those relating to the Chalet Icy, in the Canton of Bern, where Marella had had residence for tax purposes since 2012 (fictitious according to the prosecutor's office), an eighteenth-century villa on the Turin hill, the family castle in Villar Perosa, a property in Rome in via 20 maggio.
