A six-episode dark comedy from HBO, starring Oscar winner Kate Winslet, will debut on Monday 4 March exclusively on Sky and streaming only on Now: The Regime - The Palace of Power, a new and eagerly awaited miniseries.
Written by Will Tracy and directed by Stephen Frears (episodes 1, 2, 4) and Jessica Hobbs (3, 5, 6), the Sky Exclusive series is in six episodes with a great cast that includes, alongside Winslet, Matthias Schoenaerts, Guillaume Gallienne, Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton and Hugh Grant, in the role of the opponent, for the first time with Kate Winlet in 30 years of career.
The series chronicles a year within the palace walls of a modern and fictitious European authoritarian regime.
At the center is the figure of the powerful Chancellor Elena Vernham (Winslet), who however finds herself threatened by increasingly strong internal dissent.
With the help of her right-hand man, she will attempt to secure her power as things begin to crumble around her.
For Kate Winslet it is the third serial commitment with HBO, after Mildred Pierce in 2011 and her most recent extraordinary interpretation in Murder in Easttown.
