Explosions were reported last night in the north-eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, mayor Ihor Terekhov was quoted as saying by local media.
The Kiev army had warned in the previous hours of the movement of Russian attack drones of the Shahed type in the direction of the city, located just 30 kilometers from the border with Russia.
Kharkiv is not yet safe enough for residents to return to the city, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said yesterday at a press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
According to Kiev data, more than 20,000 buildings have been destroyed in Kharkiv since February 24, 2022.
Last month, a Russian drone struck a gas station in the northeastern Ukrainian city, causing a massive fire that engulfed 15 residential houses and killed at least seven people, including three children.
