A Hamas leader, Osama Hamdan, said this at a press conference in Beirut.
"If they are serious about reaching a ceasefire before Ramadan, it is in the hands of the Americans to exert sufficient pressure on the Israelis," Hamas head of political and international relations Bassem Naim said in a voice message, according to SkyNews.
A Hamas delegation participated in the new round of talks with mediators in Cairo and is now waiting - Naim reiterated - for a response from Israel.
