The Intelligence of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (Gur) has confirmed that the Russian patrol vessel 'Sergiy Kotov' hit by marine gifts last night in the waters of occupied Crimea has been destroyed: Ukrainska Pravda writes on Telegram.

The mission was carried out in collaboration with the Navy and with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the message reads.

The Ukrainian Air Force also announced that Russian forces launched 22 kamikaze drones last night, 18 of which were shot down by Kiev's air defenses.

More than 7 people died and about 6 were seriously injured in the attack, the spokesman for the Ukrainian naval forces, Dmytro Pletenchuk, told United News channel, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.

Furthermore, according to Pletenchuk, there was also an attack helicopter, a Ka-29 or a Ka-27, on board the ship that sank in the waters of occupied Crimea.

"It was probably a Ka-27," he added, estimating that "most of the crew managed to escape to safety, about 50 people."

Berlin: 'Interception was the result of an individual error'

The leak of classified information from a recording of some officials discussing confidential matters regarding the war in Ukraine was caused by an "individual error" due to the participant who joined the conversation from Singapore using an insecure line.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said this today in Berlin.

German security systems are safe, he added.

London encourages Germany to supply Taurus

London's request to NATO allies to supply long-range missiles to Ukraine at war with Russia becomes explicit: a request addressed primarily indirectly to Germany, whose chancellor, Olaf Scholz, has so far vetoed the shipment to Kiev of the German Taurus.

This was underlined by a statement released yesterday by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's spokesperson in one of the day's briefings and reported today by various newspapers across the Channel.

"The United Kingdom - said the spokesperson in response to a specific question from a journalist and on the sidelines of the conclusion of a visit to the island lasting several days by the Ukrainian first lady, Oksana Zelenska, guest during her mission of both Queen Camilla and her wife by Sunak, Akshata Murty - was the first country to deliver long-range precision missiles (the Storm Shadow, ed.) to Ukrainian forces. We encourage our allies to do the same."

The Downing Street spokesperson then essentially justified even offensive use of this type of weapon.

An instrument "capable of ensuring Kiev - he said - the lethal support necessary to defend itself and reconquer its sovereign territory".

Kiev: 'This year we will produce 2 million drones'

Ukraine will produce two million drones this year: Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries Hanna Gvozdyar told the United News channel, as reported by Rbc-Ukraine.

Gvozdyar noted that the army's needs are much greater than can be covered by the country's financial capabilities.

“And even together with our partners it would be difficult for us. However, we are working in this direction. Now we are increasing the production of drones,” she added: “in terms of production, we are going well beyond one million. And I am sure that this year we will reach the 2 million threshold."
